孔子对驾车的人说：“这哭声，虽然听起来很悲哀，却不是家中有人去世的悲痛之声啊！”
于是，赶着马车寻声到前面，前进一小段路后，便看到一个不寻常的人，身上挂着镰刀，系着白带，在那里失声痛哭，然而却不是哀丧之哭。
孔子于是下车，上前问道：“先生，请问您是什么人呢？”

丘吾子哽咽地说：“我此生有三个过失，可惜到了晚年才觉悟到，但已经是追悔莫及了。”

1. 学生很笨
直言：The student is obtuse.
婉言：He is a bit slow for his age. (他反应较慢。)
He seems to be mentally retarded.(他看来智能较弱。)
2. 学生懒惰
直言：The student is lazy.
婉言：I'm afraid he has to exert himself in his study.(恐怕他在学习上对自己得施加压力。)

Yes this may be surprising, I was only 13 years old that time.
